I was able to drive a US spec version A6 4.2 today. Handles much better than a 2004 S-line and the power was about three fifths that of an S4 with the same engine. Here are some pictures.

BTW, how was the ride quality of the 2005 A6 4.2 vs. the 2004 A6 2.7T S Line?

The ride is more similiar to the A8 than the C5. It is extremely responsive and very little lean. The car you see was the sport package but without sport seats. The most impressive thing about the drive was the brakes. They use the same 14inch rotors from the A8 and S4 and they are amazing in this car. The steering was also impressive and nicely weighted. The entire car seemed to feel like A8 meets the S4.

Unless you need a front plate that is the front. If you have to mount a plate there is another piece tha goes in its place. Same matte finish but no chrome and the overhang is all at the bottom, not some over the top/some over the bottom that we have all seen in pics and looks like $hit.

Because the radar sensor is behind the bottom part of the grill so if you order that item the license plate has the overhang on the top.

I heard from the local dealership that they are trying to get all their cars without the front plates as it looks SO MUCH BETTER. People can add the front plates if they are concerned about tickets...

tickets they write for having no front plate. . .having had a D2, D3 &amp; AR. .I was looking forward to trying out the new A6. . my primary concern was the appearance of having a front plate mounted. . . can't imagine doing so not ruining the appearance. Experiences the same problem with the Corvettes I have owned. . damn.

Every Audi comes without a us front plate and the mounting bracket in the trunk. You may choose to have it installed or leave it as is. The C6 is no different, and like all cars it looks better without the front plate.
