View Full Version : Black A6 C6
stefaanvets.be 08-26-2004, 11:21 PM Does anyone have pictures of a black A6C6 ?
Me and my wife are driving only black cars since 1988, and we are very interested in buying an a6 next year.
ACSGP 08-27-2004, 01:38 AM You can configure your car at www.audi.co.uk - I love the brilliant black (non metallic). May be ordering one soon in Singapore.

Your car looks fantastic! I like the clean look at the back with the model designation removed.

I would agree, but then I'm biased. A freshly wax brilliant black is about the best colour for the A6.

I've also minimised the chrome strip by putting a body coloured-sticker on part of the chrome.

i used fishing line and a heat gun (not too close though)... or you can leave your car out in the sun (summer) for a while and just use the fishing line.
you will need some polish to get rid of the excess glue though... looks nice and clean afterwards :)

You mean use fishing line between the emblem and the car body, like a "cable saw"? What type of "polish" did you use? Thanks!!!
bark43k 05-15-2009, 11:59 AM I used dental floss, a hair dryer, and some 3M adhesive remover. You don't want to heat the area up too much and damage the paint. I poured some 3M anti-adhesive on the area first and let it soak, then put the hair dryer on it for about 30 seconds. Then more adhesive remover, then dental floss to pop them off. Then rubbed some more adhesive remover on left over residue and scrubbed off with some non-abrasive paper towels I got from pep-boys. Washed and dried, you cant even tell there was ever emblems there.
I am lucky enough to keep the car in a garage so there is little to no sun damage, you might need to use some polish/wax to get the oxidization to blend right....but its a pretty easy project.
AV8TORSADF 05-15-2009, 03:09 PM I also use dental floss after heating the area with a heat gun for 30 seconds. Once I removed the emblems I then used "cleaner wax" (slightly abarasive wax) to clean up the area. Took me about 15 mins to do the A6 and 3.2 logos.

just ordered the car without the emblems. Simple : )
If you have a 2nd hand car, be careful of removing it as the paint around the emblems may have faded if not cared for properly.

2nd -- it may have been dental floss but fishing line works also :) and yeah any polish will work
