Do RS6s need lot of maintenance? As much as 2.7T with k03s?
I found quite a few RS6s in local dealership with under 30K price tag.
I drive an 03' allroad 2.7T and was thinking about if buying RS6 would be a better choice than going to stage 3.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

The RS6's two achilles heels are the DRC suspension (happens anywhere from 20K to 60K)and Audi doesn't seem to know how to fix it(which can be replaced and improved with top quality coilovers), and its transmission(anywhere from 30K to 100K)expensive to fix and to R&R. There may be some aftermarket fixes to strengthen the tranny as it is a version used in some other Audi's, Jags, BMW's. It's a ZF 5HP24(most car manufacters specify specific shifting, Torque converters, clutches, even though they are all a version of the 5HP24.

everything you need to know as its been asked a lot lately. Yes maintenance is more. It eats brake pads, rotors are soft (1 set of fronts a year here at $814 for the parts alone), oil changes are double due to having to drop the stabilizer bar ($180 at dealer), tires cost more and last if lucky 16K miles, half the parts require dropping the engine to fix them, the other half seems the bumper has to come off, and timing belts every 35K, plugs more often... its worth it, the car is far superior to stage 3 anything as an all around package. Must have warranty coverage period. Mileage is not an indication of how long any part is going to last. trannys have gone at 13K, 30K and 50+K, DRC the same, they go when they go. Cars near 50K miles need front suspension everything checked as control arms, links, everything with a bushing tends to go around 55 to 60K.
However a car like the RS6 for $30K...nothing like it period for shear performance...i still blow away most anything and the car is incredible in all weather conditions, and carries 4 in perfect comfort. And still looks impressive today.

No comparison. I came close to doing a stage III on my last allroad instead of buying an RS6. If you need the cargo space, then you have to modify an Allroad. You also can't do a stage III on a tip allroad as the parts aren't made as far as I know, so if you want a tip, that is in the RS6's favor. My experience with my stage III+ S4 is that it never works perfectly, especially at altitude as it over-boosts. That is why I bought another rs6 because you get 450 horses in a package that is at factory spec and always is smooth and powerful.
The air suspension is another great thing on the allroad. So, in sum, if you need the cargo space and need the occasional clearance, then go with the allroad. If you can get away with dropping the rear seats (which I do often) on the RS6 and 4 inches of clearance is enough, then the choice is easy-the RS6.
By the way, I bought the S4 stage III avant betwen RS6's because I was trying to balance what you are talking about. I wanted a station wagon that is a rocket ship and it was a nice compromise and if I did not live at 6000 feet with frequent trips to 10,000 feet maybe it would have worked, but the APR mapping always overboosted even with a manual relief valve- it was a pain in the butt.
Go stock is my mantra and with the rs6, you can afford raw power in a stock package. I don't understand why anyone buys new S4's and the like with the prices of the rs6 now.
Good luck. It is an amazing car. Just buy one you can warranty and don't worry about it. DO a VIN check and have an audi dealer run the VIN before you buy it.

it's from an Audi stealership which is 130 miles away from where I live.
it has almost 129k miles (i assume it was a DD) and is on sale for $19k.
Would extended warranty cover all the major problems?(such as DRC)

I would be hesitant about that mileage unless you do have another $10K in cash for it. You need to find out the last time it had the timing belt and other major items done as that would be coming up again.
