pull the trigger. I have now been looking for over a year and would like to find a low mileage (35K to 45K) Southern or West Coast car without paint work or rash. Obviously CPO or extended care warranty is a bonus. I have been aware of DRC/Transmission/Alignment issues for a couple of years now and have been monitoring the forum weekly. I live in Boston and plan on shipping the car if I can find one. ANY help would be MUCH appreciated.....I now have to decide which of my other 3 S-cars is going outside. Thanks all.

Or willing to spend a premium for an ultra-mileage car? When I found mine, I was targeting a few others in the 10-20k mileage range, that might still be available. Or are you wanting to keep budget more in line with a 35k+ mileage car?

It is my experience that all the RS6 forums are pretty slow... I think primarily a function of how few of these were sold...

trying to find a deal and not pay too much...these things are dropping like a rock so you will immediately be behind on the value if you pay anything more than upper 20s or low 30s ...the only exception...well jbtexas and his new 85 mile car...or another car in the teens. Anything above 35-40K miles keep the price down and the warranty coverage up. No i do not know of any available which is also why no one is responding. I haven't seen one on an Audi lot in a while...the dealers are sending them straight to auction around here.

HOWEVER as was just posted a week or two ago contact BruceM...page down till you find a post by him and email him...he can locate a car for you at auction.

These cars are rare enough...looking for Mugello might be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Since I was recently shopping these cars hard, here are some observations...just my opinion of course...

- The silver/grey exterior cars seem to bring a little more money, as do those with black interior and CF. This is probably strictly a function of number of people preferring those colors schemes. Doesnt mean that there is anything wrong with other color combos, just maybe a smaller pool of buyers.

- There seemed to be a significant price difference between those ultra low mileage cars (less than 20k miles) vs. 30-40kish, vs. beyond. The ultra low mileage cars ranged from $45-55k, the mid mileage were more like $40-45k and the "higher" mileage cars were in the $30s. I didnt see any cars in the $20s, and to be honest, the cars I physically looked at in the $30s were pretty worn. Perhaps not the type of enthusiast owners we see on this board.

- Obviously you are better off buying from an individual owner all things equal, as the dealers need to make their profit. But again, it might come down to condition and availability of cars.

- My thought process on buying the 85-mile car was that while I was probably paying about a $5k premium over other ultra low mileage cars, it was worth it to me to have a brand new car. I also believe that while it will depreciate, it will always hold a slight premium over others in the market because of the advantage I have on the mileage curve. I could put 10k miles on the car over the next couple years and it will still probably always be the lowest mileage example for sale.

My Northern California Mugello has 37,500 miles on it. In the shop right now having the 35K service done (READ: timing belt). Suspension was completely redone at 33,000 miles (Bilstein P9 coilovers on all 4 corners -- no more DRC). New Michelin PS2s about to be mounted. Has after market warranty, enhanced exhaust and XM satellite radio option. But the interior is silver, not black. Not sure I will want to sell it after all this work is done but if you are interested let me know.

Already up to 50 and it was a month and a half ago... :( I'd love to buy something else but I feel like every time I had a choice between driving the RS6 and driving G ride commuter car, I'd always take the RS6! Maybe you guys can afford a sick second card but not me!!!!....YET

There seems to be new RS6's for sale everyday on Autotrader/Cars.com and Ebay. I took a high mileage one for a ride today here in Mass and I heard this "clunk" coming from underneath. Dealer suggested that maybe the spare tire came loose and the noise was coming from the trunk. I just smiled and thought of the poor bastard who buys this car better learn his ABC's and DRC's.
Anyone who reads these posts can email me at attyrobertiacovelli@yahoo if they find a keeper.
Thanks.
