I'm still workng on the rotors issue with Audi but I'm wondering if new aftermarket pads would silence the the gawd awful noise coming from my brakes. I'm honestly embarrassed to brake in public at this point. Has anybody replace their pads to eliminate the squeal?

several high speed stops from 60-0 one right after the other.
Let the brakes cool while driving and the squeal should go away.

i did at 20K when squeal became inescapable and it turns out pads were shot and rotors were out of spec.

rally above); great braking with no squeal whatsoever.

First two sets of pads and rotors felt like metal on metal.. you could feel the scraping thru the pedal.. Newest set now is smooth and has no squeal unless they get hot and then have a little, but thats normal..

It's almost like someone is running their fingernails down a chalkboard.

My neighbors are going to be like,"WTF??" LOL!

Note that the first set was replaced after 7k due to excessive squeal not wear..
2nd set was the same but lasted till 22k when they were just under spec..

Dont let your dealer try and deny this, You are entitled to a change of pads and rotors regardless of wear if they pulsate or are excessively loud strictly for comfort reasons. Call your Audi advocate for help..

brake hard and quick at stops....works for me...

or as Rakete sugests, turn up the radio... ;p

The stops need to panic stops one right after the other. If 60mph does not do it, use 80mph.

It's amazing how many annoying problems you can eliminate just by turning up the stereo.

Incredible "bite" though.

I'd say that 4 out of 5 times, it took care of the squeal for a little while.
