out how to get more cooling to the brakes right now. As soon as my R32 comes off the lift the RS6 goes up to examine possibilities.

Messing with the fender liners scare me though, could sacrifice engine "cooling."

various hardware in the engine bay. The passenger side, while more exposed, blows all that hot air developed by the passenger side turbocharger on that side into the rotor/brake caliper area. I think the ventialtion of the engine bay is poor to begin with so it's not like you are restricting it any more than it already is.
I have a couple of things I'm considering; the first is getting an A6 4.2 hood and start carving away. Nothing pretty but more of a test to see how I can release the engine heat by the use of cutouts/vents. If I'm successful in doing that, then I'd go for the solid fender liners of the 4.2 also to help block the heat generated by the engine blowing in to the wheel well. One thing at a time to see the results.
There was consideration of a group buy/build of a CF hood for the RS6 with the possibility of design changes incorporated in to the hood for venttilation.
I can do all the high heat/high speed testing I want out at ABCC so I've got the venue, I just need to find the time.

and they have a Phaeton handy, you might want to see if that scoop will fit your RS6. Can't hurt to try. Maybe the R32 has it too?

Reporting back...
the scoop protrudes in about 1.25 inches from the side wall at the centerline of the stock 18 inch wheel, but bends back within the envelope of the tire pretty quickly so as to not interfere with suspension components. It's a flexible fiberglass like material. The scoop is about 5.5 inches high. I suppose it grabs air, particularly in a turn. If you have cross drilled rotors it will blast air from the inside out.
If you look at the "12 o'clock" position of the wheels above, you will see the black horn-like scoop reach up from the hub area around and up towards the edge of the wheel and sidewall.

Brakes available ROW for W12 Phaeton. (Look like RS6 brakes.)

Because of his Movit brake set up, he didn't have splash shields fitted, so he modified the Phaeton part. Still, looks good in concept, especially if the whole shield fits on the RS6.

http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=50549&hig hlight=brake+ducts</a

Look for the vid outside the car as he gets it sideways at the ring on RS6.com.
