I've contacted each dealer and none are willing to come down in price much. I was hoping to get one in the $55000 range. Is this doable? BTW the mileage on the cars are all around 40,000.

iis already bid past $55,000 on eBay with a day to go. Pretty likely they'll hit their But-It-Now price:<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Audi-4dr-Sedan-2003-AUDI-CERTIFIED-RS-6-450-HP-AWD-AUTOMATIC-RARE-RS6_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6055QQitemZ46259642 71QQrdZ1">CPO'd Avus RS6 on eBay.</a></li></ul>

If so, you are the top bid! That's excellent. You may get lucky and actually get the car. Keep talking to them on the phone - try to get them to lower the "buy it now" to your top bid. You must be very close. Go for it!

Careful, could be the seller!

Check to see what the next bidder has bid on in the past by clicking on their feedback. If it's something like girls sweaters and shoes, you can almost bet its a shill for the seller. If it's auto related, then it could be an auto reseller. He won't go too high. Of course it could be an Audi fanatic, you never know... Good luck. (It ain't me!)

It's hard to guess, because the other bidder hasn't bought or sold anything in 6 months and no clue is available as to what he was buying. Except one seller mentioned a $40,000 transaction! He could be serious - getting another car. So you may have a little bidding war going at the end. Try to get more information from the seller. They may like the other guy because of that $40k feedback that was left for him.

You could always go for "Buy it Now" Just $3k more... and a CPO.

I've been looking at 3 others so I might try to get this one on the cheap If I don't get it I can always buy one of the others for $58000. Any one have any idea what this car might be worth in 2 years?

Tough call on what to do.

It's likely the "market" won't change for a couple months at least. People are in the mood to get out and drive! The market could shrink and prices stay firm. I haven't seen any lately on Manheim either.

Again, for a couple of thou, is it important enough? What's a hundred missed smiles worth to you? You could own it this time tomorrow. :-)
Or wait. :-/

"I just sold my blue/platinum/carbon RS6 and took a huge hit from the new purchase price a couple of years ago, even though I had low mileage (11K)." No, it's not mine.

My point is, opportunities can be found - if you have your heart set on an Avus with carbon fibre, then don't let me interfere. But patience may reward you, especially with the S6 + S8's rolling out soon. Some RS6 owners may look to trade out of DRC issues etc. And make sure that, wherever it is that you live, you have an RS6 certified dealer within a comfortable distance. Good luck .. and for the record, mine is my daily driver and the finest all-round car that I have had the opportunity to own.

Just had an incredible day with this car in wet conditions that there is no car on the planet that that could do what mine did for me today (thats also a very roomy 4 door sedan). Never will you be disappointed if you understand what this car is. It does have issues but when it works...WOW IT WORKS.

understand, or go drive it again, no idea if you have, you have an S4 but you have no idea till you spend time with this car how incredible it is. I got this car for my passion about Audi's and just outstanding performance. I don't care what it is worth, I bought it at the same second I thought I could pull it off and I do not care what happens later (other than when my warranty runs out) as to drive this car every day...wow. To watch in my rear view mirror and to watch in front of me the space and distance that is created...and without effort...and 3 other people with you or just alone. Or I could have a Range Rover or a CLS that looks cool. Or I could experience what I did today (on track). RS6 it is.

815-636-6600, and ask for Tim Hayes.

He's at a Northern illinois Audi dealer and they have an Avus RS6 and are willing to deal.

Tell him no.radar sent you!

Looks like it's between the NJ dealer and the IL dealer for the car. I should be getting 1 of the 2 within a few days. I'm getting excited! Gotta get the best deal though

that's the one I'd choose, even if the price is a bit higher. If both are a long distance, then it's price and condition! The photos of the NJ car show it to be pristine. People speak highly of the IL dealer too. Do you have photos of that one?

I'm awaiting the final offer. He's off today so I'll have a good idea where which one I'm buying tomorrow. That is if I don't get cold feet! This is big bucks for me!

1) Your item description should be quite a bit more descriptive. C'mon, man, ROMANCE that S4!! Service history, absence of mods, one-owner...everything you can possibly think of that'd interest someone. (Go to school on other private-party eBay seller listings.)

2) I'd include something about why you have no feedback, and a pointed invitation to come see the car.

3) MOST important: Put a phone number in the item description so people can contact you directly and buy the car off eBay.

Good luck...on the sale....AND teh purchase!!<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Audi-S4-2005-Audi-S4-TIP_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43902QQitemZ4628876 899QQrdZ1">S4 on eBay</a></li></ul>
