I can't find a definitive answer regarding what has been done to solve this up here. Wheels are fine per Hunter runout and tires up front are at 9 or less. Something else is wrong. -Pete

...if you are running spacers too, that can be partially at fault.
Put the stock ones on the car. If there is no vibration, there you have it. Not the car, but the wheels.

Everything from tires, balance, wheels, alignment, subframe adjustments. No one main source.

Same scenario, the wheels and tires checked out. Road force no higher than 10. Ended up being the wrong aftermarket wheel bolts(conical vs. ball seat). Weird huh. Or you might have some other driveline problem.

Lots of stuff there on it.

Haven't heard much on it lately though.... And I *think* this is a first on the RS6 forum.

The obvious balancing as step one. Also look for tire deformations, torn belts, etc. If tire was ever patched, there could be a torn belt lurking. Tire rotation from front to back often fleshes this kind of stuff out better.

Then worn or defective suspension parts--especially tie rod ends and upper a/control arms. Torn rubber covers = problem inside.

If anybody installed an H Sport bar or fooled with bar, look at all bolt-on points. Locktite should have been applied. They come loose on my H Sport, especially at the ends.

After that more esoteric stuff--bad bearings, CV joint weirdness, misbalanced drive axles, etc.

I have the same issue, it is minimal, but I'm too tired to debug. Peak is 50mph. Dealer is totally USELESS as they take one look at the aftermarket wheels, and shrug.

Hunter road force and rotation made zero diff. Lower tire pressures helped.

problem started when the wheels went on.

Do they also have a vibration in the whole car? ie, even if the steering wheel is ok, does the seat headrest give the back of your head a small vibro massage - that is the easiest way to notice it.

...was SLIGHT steering wheel vibration, but much more noticeable harmonic noise at 20-40mph especially.
