Not in the same class. I imagine the G35 driver was clueless about the mighty RS6.

I also drove the LS 430 and Audi A8. I don't think the Lexus measures up to the A8 and I am a bit suprised just how much better the A8 was. Oh, and that A8 light beige/light wood interior is probably the best I have ever seen. Kinda makes want an A8L...

BTW, the new Lexus IS Series (especially the 300+ hp IS350 that will make it's debut at the NY Auto Show) is miles ahead of the G35 in every conceiveable way. In particular, the Audi or Bentley like interior of the new IS Series is thousands of times nicer than the G35's Pontiac Sunfire like interior. I predict that the new IS Series will take a smorgasboard of sales away from the G35 to the point where Infiniti will have just as much difficulty selling G35s as they always have had selling Q45s.

Actually, there are some older interiors I really like too, but among cars being produced today, the A8 is my favorite in terms of beauty, luxury and comfort. In the tan with light wood, it is stunning.

Interesting question. Maybe, because of its size. When I think of large sedans from any brand, my impression is that men around 60 & up comprise the largest owner group. Don't know if it's true or not.

But I like the new A6 interior just as much. Maybe more so because of the cool driver oriented dashboard.

Well, almost; I turn 60 near the end of this month.

What's the big deal about older owners, anyway? You younger guys have only two alternatives, along with the rest of us: Grow old -- or die! Personally I prefer the former.

When it comes to choosing cars, who cares? If it's what you want and you can afford it, go for it! If younger friends balk about a larger sedan, take them for a long drive somewhere as passengers. If they still complain, get new friends.

If I had worried what others might think, I might not have bought my 530i new in 1975 because the "Bimmer" craze had not started yet and most people didn't even recognize it. But anyone who rode in it was impressed, the few others who drove it were very impressed, and of the 20 cars I've owned it may be the best when combining performance, reliability and comfort.

I know, I know -- "cranky old b*st*rd!" Whatever. Just my $.02.

It was just a really nice car. Now maybe that itself is just a sign that I am getting older. Maybe the sedans are getting more sporty. Who knows? I never really paid much attention to the large sedans. After looking closely at a couple, I was really impressed with the A8. It sure would be comfortable on a long road trip.

fine wine...gets better with age. My husband is 62.6 and drives our RS6..And the A8 is a damn nice car too....And the A8L can double for a hotel room when you have relatives over....
