Took the RS6 in with 28K miles. Asked for the 30K service. (Every 5K miles)

Got the car back, said they need to replace the belt. Come back in a week. It has already been posted that this is the 35K mile service. Took back, took four full days to complete, with two days over the weekend. Reason: First one they have ever done.

Had the car this weekend from the client as he was out of town, and asked if I wanted to drive it while he and his wife were gone. This is one A++ client. Took it to diner Sat night, and got to remember why this is my favorite car ever.

Noticed the next service sticker says 45K miles. Car has 28,800 on it.

How wrong is this?

Is the maint. include for every 5K and for how long? What other major service issues are coming up?

Last question, noticed considerable driver seat squeeking. Every bump, and even shifting position. It seemed as if the seat was rubbing into the center console. Anyone else noticed this problem?

because they felt it couldn't wait, then I suspect that they feel that any service prior to the 45k would be elective by the owner - just as I elect to have the oil changed on the "0's" between factory svcs. As to the seat squeaking, I don't have that issue (but my seat is full arear) - I did however have squeaking on my 4.2

Many cars do require a 30K service, and some may call for oil every 5K, but the factory schedule for the RS6 is service at 5K, 15K, 25K, 35K, 45K and so on. If they did the timing belt, that would be the 35K service. But why would they perform that only 3K after the 25K service?

At my selling dealership in Michigan, service is not factory paid unless it is within 1K mi of its scheduled interval. Here in FL, they allow a little more. But off by 7K mi? Doesn't make sense to me.

Free maintenance occurs at the first 5K, and every 10K after that (15, 25, 35, etc).

I do the service in the interval in-between, out-of-pocket of course, and only an oil change.
I'm surprised they did your belt at 30K though.

my body must press the side of the seat against the center console to the point it rubs. Easy solution. I stuck some black felt between the two and rubbing went away. Don't bother trying to grease it. It messes up the seats, smells and runs down and generally mucks things up.

The felt trick works well. If it makes you feel any better, I'm skinny to average and my seat bolster does the same thing. Perhaps it's the continuous lateral loading this car seems to encourage...
