All the cars for U.S.A. were built by week 51/2003. I don't know about the rest of the world.

Audi web site shows the RS6 as a 2003 model. Reviewer from Washigton Post was mistaken.

IIRC, the AoA rep at the Washington Auto Show said the A6 will change for 2005, new body style, etc. I think he said an RS6 type version would take another year.

This would be for the sedan and avant (early or mid '06) and available for the first time ever coupe (late '06). The available for the first time ever convertible will come out in early or mid 2007 for 2008. Of course, the regular versions of the new A6 will also be available for the first time ever in the coupe and convertible bodystyles in addition to the usual sedan and avant bodystyles. The new A6/RS6 coupe and convertible will essentially be the production versions of the Nuvolari concept. Happily, there will not be a new S6. Compared to the M5 and E55 AMG, the new S6 is such a wimpy ass car anyway.

However, from 1-1-04 to sometime in 5-04 or 6-04, the current RS6 will be available in Canada. Read my message above titled "New RS6 due out in 2006 for 2007" posted on 2004-01-06 at 12:01:29 regarding the new RS6.
