than a car that did 0-100 in 12 seconds and went 200 mph. What I am saying is the number of times I drive over 100 mph are so few, that the big top end of the E55 would not really pay off, whereas I make the 0-60 run all the time, and the roll to 100 mph once in awhile, and the AWD of the RS6 would really pay off.

Regretted trading the first RS 6 after living with the E55 AMG, said the the MB chassis didn't live up to the engine.
...at which point the E55 should go flying by and never look back.
Time to distance is not the same as time to speed. Time to distance tells who wins races. Times to speed look good in the magazines. It's possible for a car to do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds and be behind a car that can do 0-60 in 4.4 seconds at the time on or the other reaches 60mph.

I am that guy. I was initially swayed by a phone call from the MB dealer. I liked the looks, it was comfortable, very up to date etc. The car even seemed to drive well. I had it for 2 weeks or so and realized it just didn't feel right. I didn't like the brakes, nor the steering-which was mushy. The car also felt like a luxury car that an oversized engine was stuffed into (much like their commercial I guess).
I called my Audi dealer who had just gotten a white RS6 in. The car looked great in white (in my opinion), and as soon as I drove it again I waas hooked. He took the E55 in trade (a positive for the E55 was the fact that it only lost 6K or so) The dealer offset that with some very generous discounts and perks on the RS6.
The moral of the story is.....act in haste repent in leisure.
It was an expensive lesson given the loss I took on the Daytona RS6, but I am once again in "car heaven."

Cool, didn't know you hung here at AW; we're going to have to make a database cross referencing rs6.com handles to AW. You have to give us some pics soon, right? ;-)
If so, we need to meet up sometime. ;-)

No, I live in New Jersey. Got it locally. The dealer thought I may have th eonly white RS6 in the country. Obviously he was wrong.
...if I'd had a spare $50k burning a hole in my pocket I would have had to have bought it, and I think this is only the second white car I've ever really liked the looks of (the first being a Lamborghini Countach).

I purchased the Polar White RS6 from Advantage Audi on Friday:) Somebody put 550 miles on it before I bought it. I love this car.
...I guess I should have acted like I could have seriously purchased it, and then I could have. Enjoy. Drive it easy, put about 10k/yr. on it and call me in 3 years when you want a new toy. :-)
