But then again, in the US you don't blow out your children's college fund each time you fill up the tank...

And in fact, the TPM isn't that fantastic - OK, it's vaguely useful, but it's not like the one for the A8 that tells you the actual pressure and temperature, it just tells you if they've gone down from what level you tell it is normal.

quote by Car & Driver as they voted our beast ahead of the M5 and the E55. I do love this car!

and I can't blame them. When the US buyers ordered the car all the ordering information was based upon what's sold in the rest of the world.

As the details of the missing pieces in US bound cars came out it made me question whether the car was worth the money.

I don't regret buying the car one bit after owning it for the last couple of months.

everything else is just icing on the cake.

Still, having said that, I'd be annoyed if some of the stuff that I thought would be in the spec wasn't when it turned up.

I would have lived without a spare. Z06 buyers don't get a spare either, if memory serves me correctly.

...I've had a simple pothole make such a devastating impact on a tire/wheel that fix-a-flat would have been useless and the wheel was a candidate for the garbage can (that's not hard to do with 18" wheels and O-rings for tires). Since I had a spare, I put it on in 7-8 minutes and continued on my way. I didn't get a replacement for several more days. Had I not had a spare tire, I would have been waiting for a tow truck for perhaps hours. Then I would have been without the use of my car until I procured a replacement.
