while test-fitting my dry sump oil system to the side of my builder engine I've discovered that I either have to do away with dry sump or do away with headers to make this work. Headers gain me a few horsepower but dry sump gives me better internal engine lubrication & protection. I "could" mount the dry sump system with these but it would be a seriously Rube Goldberg looking affair and would add almost 15lbs in CNC'd aluminum off-setting plates and brackets and I would be dangersously close to both headers and my frame rails. Given this is a $45,000+ engine with titanium rods and Mahle box-n-box pistons as on the R8/R10 as well as a severely modified lightweight crank, and a gazillion other uber lightweight internals which would you eliminate? Yeah, me too.

These ran $2395.00 when new and I paid $1,200 cash for them 5 years ago and traded a pair of ported/polished cast iron exhaust manifolds valued at $300.00. They were new then and had never been mounted. Same is true today. I'm not willing to take a loss and am prepared to own them FOREVER before selling at a loss. These are B5/A4 12V specific but could be modified to work with the B4 or C-chassis 12V cars. I want $1500+ shipping out of them or will sell them with the Random Technology stainless steel, spiral wound metal matrix racing cats that are an incredibly hi-flow design... the BEST, highest-flow "legal" cats out there! New they run $266.00 each. With cats & V-clamps I want $2,000+ shipping. I figure shipping to lower 48 would run in the $100.00 ballpark and they will be packaged tight and professionally. Buyer pays "actual" shipping costs without mark-up by me for "handling" or other hidden BS costs.

I don't expect these to fly out the door due to pricing but I'll ship them anywhere in the world. However, you MUST be aware that due to the "one-of-a-kind" nature of these they are not replaceable for ANY amount of money and therefore I will not under-value them on ANY country's custom declaration sheet as they MUST be insured for the full value you're paying or I won't turn them over to ANY shipping company! Hard for me to declare their value at $25.00 on a customs declaration when they're insured for $2,000.00!

I have extreme concerns over selling these as this leaves me without a "known" direction exhaust-wise on the builder engine. But I'll find a way to get that 25HP back that won't compromise lubrication. But if my new engine were to grenade on me I don't have another spare $45k of expendable cash lying around to start over and I'd beat the crap outta myself emotionally for being so thoughtless/careless, frivolous and cavalier with SUCH a big-ticket engine. It all comes down to priorities and a "splash" type lubrication system scares the bejeezus out of me at 10K+ RPM's!!!

Maybe you'll have to settle for an unequal length set? I assume they'd fit considering how much smaller they are...

basically a little longer here, shorter there, different angle here, slight rise there, tighter radius here, slower radius there. Then a mirror image copy for the opposite side once the "custom" side is designed. "Equal-length" does not mean "identical configuration" to what I have now. Equal-length could be done in a bazillion different configurations. Only the TDL equal-length headers, in this case are the issue. Lloyd never planned on a dry sump being mounted. Not his fault they canmnot be adapted. These were built for OEM 12V engines with splash lubrication. Lloyd never planned on someone hanging a belt-driven pump in his header's path. There's a thousand ways to skin this cat but they all run in the $5-$6k price range if equal-length is on the menu.

But seriously... If I could only sell this Mark Levinson ML436 mono block amp, I'd be writing you ASAP !! I've been trying for a LONG time to free up some "play" money but its just not selling. Probably better that you want so much (a fair price, too), otherwise I'd be likely to let the plastic to the talking. DAMN !! Perfectly bad timing !!

If it's good enough for the aircraft I fly, it's good enough to protect your engine.

That was more of a question than a suggestion.

Is there electric oil pumps out there sufficient to meet your needs?

Don't sweat the small stuff.
