Has anyone does this? I would like to swap my power drivers seat with a manually adjusted sport cloth seat out of a 97. Clearly its not just a plug and play deal. I see that the set-up is different between the power and manual seat, but is there a way to just transplant the seat cushions onto the power seat just so its attached?
I see in the bently that you can basically take the seats apart but it doesn't show whether or not the two are interchangeable.
Any advice would be great thanks

However, it was in a B3 90q. I removed the power seats and added manual quattro scripts (dumped about 30lbs in the process too)
I had to have the manual seat "catch" welded in. The auto seats don't have this. You're going to have to go to a salvage yard and have them pull those two brackets and bring it to a welder. Not exactly a plug and play process, not that hard though either.
Here's a pic of the manual catch (not my car):

Lucky for me a good friend who just finished welding school live near by.. and there is also a salvage yard with a 97 B5 with a manual seat. does it have to be a drivers side for the drivers side, or are they interchangeable?

Is the passengers side manual seat "catch" interchangable with the drivers or visa versa? I found one A4 in the salvage yards but only with the passengers side manual seat "catch". My passengers seat was already a manual one so I just need to do the drivers side. Question is can I use the pass side on the drivers side?
Thanks in advance.
