B5/B6 chassis will fit my 12V????
I realized that many of the components under the 80/90/Ur/4000, etc list were designed for the I5....so today I looked under the A4/S4 section. The have street and track density motor mounts "for the A4/S4" that say they will fit V6 models....now I know that my 90 is a B4, but the B5's do have 12v's and I would imagine that the mounting brackets would be the same. Am i way off here?
Anyways, I called 034 and they told me that they "were designed for the B5/B6 chassis, and they are only garanteed to work on those models."
to me, the 034 density line B5/B6 motor mounts look almost Identical to the B4 12v mounts, with the exception of the bolt on the bottom. I would think that if the dimensions were identical, then you could simply grind off the bolt and be all good......Please, someone tell me if I am way off here!!

As you can tell from the pictures, they are obviously different mounts. THe A4 the bracket that holds the motor mount is separate from the mount itself, which isn't the case w/ the B4. And for the I5 setups, the mount support bracket is part of the frame rail, and the mount is separate like the B5, though it mounts completely differently.

So moral of story: Autohausaz.com is your friend when trying to get easy-access pictures of what you're trying to compare for things... and the 034 mounts won't work on a B4 unless designated for a B4, though I don't know why they use the "can't guarantee" BS instead of just figure out what fits what and tell you that, but that's just me.

any poly mounts designed for a 12v B4....oh well, I'm done bitching now.

I wonder if they can be gutted out/ drill a hole in the bottom and then they would support the B5 style mounts. What do you think???

I looked up the allroad mounts for that year and it depicted them as the same design as the B5 V6 mounts (where the mount is seperate from the bracket). Whats going on here????? Am I missing something?

not motor mounts ;)

The modifications to the allroad tranny mounts is you need to turn down the big washer inorder for it to seat properly in the subframe iirc.

Unless you feel like being a pioneer, looks like you're stuck w/ the stock setup. OR, you could find someone parting a B4 out and snag the motor mounts and see if you can come up with something. This will allow you to tinker with things w/o tearing your car apart.

and you're right, I just need to snag some B4 mounts. I actually just found a whole B4 at a junkyard near by, and I think I'll go grab me some goodies. Then I can start tinkering.
