EDIGREG 06-05-2008, 11:07 AM I think you need to specify if you want humps or transitions, otherwise they send you the standard 90* bends. But you may want to add a note to your order just to be sure. We used this method in the Pikes Peak car for getting more clearance for exhaust/wastegates up against fender liners when plumbing the exhaust system on the B5/A4 with the AAN 20v. Works slicker-n-snot!! Take a baseball and a pneumatic impact hammer/chisel. Drill a 1/2" diameter hole 1/2" deep into the baseball away from the stitching. Then drive a 1/2"x20TPI nut with a hammer into the hole in the baseball. Using a ball nose impact tip in the impact hammer/chisel sit the baseball against the sheet metal you want to push in and the impact hammer with the ball-nosed bit placed inside the 1/2"x20 nut. While holding the baseball in left hand and impact chisel in right hand start to slowly impact-hammer the shape you want into the sheet metal thru the baseball into firewall directly behind where TB silicone elbow attaches. You can actually shape the concavity into virtually any shape you want or need except "square-edged." This leaves perfectly radiused concavities with no scratches in the paint whatsoever. It's a GREAT trick!! But to do the firewall for a more free-flowing silicone elbow the TB does have to come off. But takes under 2 minutes once you have TB off and the "baseball" pre-drilled w/nut installed to impact a nice concavity where the silicone elbow will nestle into perfectly. I also used a urethane skateboard wheel to do it once with equally great reults when needing a radiused edge but a relative "flat-bottomed" recess.
