View Full Version : who was it here that had some of the 3mm Butterfly screws for upper I.M. for me???? Luxus Panzer 06-04-2008, 08:25 PM I forget who said they had some, but I could use them now. TIA dragon-ryder 06-05-2008, 09:21 AM VAP 06-05-2008, 10:47 AM

any if he were, if ya catch my drift ;-) I had 2,845 stainless "truss screws" made years ago when doing the IM Workshop that have been lost for years but re-found them in April when I was sick doing clean-up around the house. (I actually ordered 3k from the factory but got and paid for 2,845 and cant say how/why that happened). As part of my on-going greed-motivated schemes to continue separating forum members from their hard-earned cash I provide these "free+shipping" to anyone that's ever purchased anything from me. Even a SASE works for US customers. I've done that with these since the IM Workshop era. But please only "1 set per customer" tho it only takes 12 to do the IMW I provide a "Baker's Dozen" (13) in case of a screw-up (pun intended). I chose stainless "truss screws" for their lower-profile, enhanced flow and larger "under-head" surface area than pan head and round head machine screws. These are 18-8 stainless and exceedingly hard to find in the US in this metric size. I couldn't find them at all so I had some made. They need to be installed with LocTite red. After installation and curing of LocTite they can have the less than 1mm protrusion ground flat to increase flow further. You'll not likely find this type screw in stainless in this size anywhere in the US tho pan-head/round head is easier to come by. Only thing I charge for these is shipping to previous customers. Those that have never purchased from me before get royally screwed without benefit of a "reach-around" to the tune of 12 cents each + shipping ;-) These are simply the finest fasteners with the highest flow for the 12V cross-over butterfly plates that money can buy... PERIOD! One of those "if we're gonna be a dog, why be a Chihuahua" things. It just didn't suit the design goal to spend over 100 hours in an intake manifold then re-assemble it with something that flowed less than it could have just to save 2-4 cents per fastener. Granted it's not much additional flow but it is "some" additional flow and that's the most important thing... to me anyway. I do ask that anyone requesting these please provide proof of IM Workshop participation as early on I sent 25-30 sets of these out to anyone/everyone that asked free-of-charge and I think only 2 of those people ever did the IM Workshop. If you just want the free screws and have no plans of doing the workshop just tell me that up front. You'll get the screws and I'll be happy to do it. I know Luxus has done the workshop so he's off the hook with regard to burdon of proof. odelay12v 06-05-2008, 11:03 AM thats awesome.. i have been wondering where i will get those.. now once i get to that part in my life i know where to go Thanks!
