My son and I are planning an engine replacement on his 275,000 mile '93 90S.

The clutch currently engages very near the top end of the pedal travel and therefore we are planning on replacing the clutch at the time of the engine replacement.

I have performed many clutch replacements on german cars but never on an Audi 90S.

What parts should be purchased?

I'm pretty sure about these parts:
Clutch Disk
Pressure Plate
Throw-out Bearing
Pilot Bearing

Do these parts apply?
Clutch Arm?
Pivot Pin?
Transmission input shaft seal

The engine going in, reportedy has only 60,000 miles so I'm hoping a new rear main seal isn't needed.

Any other "while we had the engine out, we should have ..." tips?

Thanks in advance.

Comes with the Cluth, Pressure plate, and throwout bearing. While your at it you might as well do the input shaft seal. As far as the rear main seal is concerned, you might as well do it while you have the engine/transmission out. Its short money for the seal, but would require you to pull the transmission back out again if it happened to start leaking in 5,10,20k miles.

While you have the engine out, do whatever you feel is necessary, remember the engine is out, it is 10 times easier to do a head gasket while its out of the car as opposed to when its in. Anything else is a matter of preference.
