Well, pulled my garage ported TB off yesterday and switched out for SXTB+. Motor still not all the way on the ball yet, but so far part throttle has improved, well, MUCH. When I installed my ported TB last year the jump was enormous, and this one is also huge! WOT is little difference tho, as I am running a stock MAF w/ screen and stock IM which are seriously choking out my big valve ported heads and ported EM's. Next, I need MAF and VS!! IM is almost complete on the bench, just need to set aside some time to complete and bolt on.

High RPM is small gains, but the biggest improvement is part throttle and low RPM. 3-4K at 1/2 throttle just jumps. I know the MAF is holding me back BIG TIME and can't wait to get my hands on RS3 MAF and that new VS we have been hearing about!

and do it for you if you want. that shroud and screen are screwing you out of 30 percent of your intake. ive got 4 sizes of 0-rings too. they were almost impossible to find. theres one manufacturer that had several thicknesses of 11mm o.d. o-rings. i ordered 10 of each.
the biggest gain i noticed so far was the first mod i did. i opened up my MAF, removed the screen, installed 3" id silicone tube and elbos, and opened the air box up to 3.5" id. i was quite amazed at the gain.
next was my "d.i.y." (which by the way, i'd like to add that anything made or altered outside the factory is "d.i.y.", so dont feel intimidated to do it yourself, even though you've been programed to) TB bore. equivalent, almost, to the gain i saw from previous set of mods.
the IM porting was expensive and labor intensive and was also a phat gain. probably due to the fact that i gasket matched the heads while the IM was off. those injector paths just had to be laced-up.
the other day i switched to a 4.25" id VS in my airbox. that was a very tiny gain. more than anything i can hear the induction sound almost as well as runnin a cone.
anyway, if you want some of my 0-rings, pplease le me know. we're just a couple o miles away from each other.

improper porting. Going in to smog car this week and might do one of my own and drop that in until mance does another MAF run.

is capable of flowing but until you get thru a full tank of gas the ECU is still learning/adapting and even yesterdays/todays results will still get better than they are now before levelling out.

and any/all engines will ALWAYS run better in coooler/denser air... it's the law internal combustion MUST abide by! It has no choice in the matter. Thats whay it's called "law."
