To date I have 4 "s" cores and 3 regular TB's in here for conversion that people have sent in. Additionally I have 5 of my own XTB "exchange program" throttle body cores that are pre-bored and ready to finish. Judging from the people contacting me via email on this topic I'm expecting 10-12 SXTB conversions in this production run and a similar number of XTB's so I'm gonna be on my bicycle for a SOLID 2 weeks getting these cranked out beginning April 2-3rd.
I will accept TB cores between now and April 4 only for the April production run. I cannot accept ANY throttle bodies after April 4th for conversion as I have a "carved-in-stone" deadline
for this production run that CANNOT extend beyond
April 18. April 19 I'm on to another project.
If sending a core please insure it's squeaky clean or there will be an additional cleaning charge applied. Because I clean these ultrasonically after receiving them and the ultrasonic cleaning solution is ULTRA expensive I have to do this. In exchange I promise to send you a gleamingly clean TB back. Only takes one dirty TB core to ruin the entire batch of ultrasonic cleaning solution that would otherwise clean 25-30 throttle bodies inside and out down to their base metal. Best method I've found for the pre-cleaning required for ultrasonic immersion is the use of an aerosol "non-chlorinated" brake cleaner and an old toothbrush. Available at ALL local FLAPS. Cost runs ~$3.49 per can and use the WHOLE can inside and out and in EVERY bore and passage!! Once it "appears" clean, KEEP CLEANING!! There's NO SUCH THING as "too" clean. Use 2 cans of brake cleaner if necessary! You could use over 6 cans and still be cheaper than what I'll charge you if I have to halt production and pre-clean your core before I can put it in the ultrasonic cleaner. DO NOT spray brake cleaner into your TPS or passing gear kick-down switch on cars with automatic transmissions!! Even better if you remove those components before cleaning but send them along with your TB core. No need to include TPS mounting screws as TPS screws are replaced with stainless button head screws. But I need the kick-down micro-switch mounting screws for calibrating that switch before returning on automatic transmission cars.
Any/all interested parties wanting to get in on this run should have their TB cores to me by 3 weeks from today or miss the last anticipated TB production run of '08.
When sending your TB core to me for conversion it's CRUCIAL you include a piece of paper "inside" the box with your name and email address so I can establish ownership and a method of contact. You'd be AMAZED how many throttle bodies I get with no name in or outside the box and no way of knowing who's it is. And PLEASE wrap or cushion the plastic pulley end of ALL TB's when shipping as well as packed VERY securely... it should not move at ALL within the box once packed. Over the years I've received 4-5 TB's with the plastic throttle cable pulley broken so it's a "known" weak point. If your package is dropped ANYWHERE during shipping and lands on that plastic pulley side of the shipping box it WILL break if not protected! Yes, it can be fixed but you're gonna have to buy another throttle body then swap those parts to fix yours and it's a major PITA replacing it!!
All throttle bodies received by me with TPS and/or auto transmission "kick-down/passing gear" micro-switches installed will have those parts pre-calibrated per Bently spec before being returned. TB's received without those parts obviously cannot be calibrated. All converted TB's come with a new gasket required for installation. Nothing else to buy... simply 'plug-n-play.'
