And more importantly, how many hours did the project take? ;-)

Everything went smooth yesterday when I changed my TB. I changed belt, tensioner, idler, t-stat and snub. I drained my coolant and added new coolant and properly bled (I think). Now if I turn the key half way and leave it there, after about 5 seconds, my temperature light BLINKS and I hear that loud beeep that we hear when our gas tanks are low. It beeeeeps 3 times.

I've driven my car about 150 miles since I did the belt and it runs great and the temperature of oil and cooland hasn't risen above what it used to. Could it be my temp sensor? I probably should have change it while i was in there!!!!! doh! anyways, what do you all think?

How's it on your A4, Mr. Missle Man? On mine there's a level sensor plug, but even if unplug the connector from the reservoir, I don't get either a light or a beep. That's why I check my coolant temp gauge (along with all other gauges) all the time (pilot-style). ;-)

It has never beeped, but the light came on & flashed due to insufficient bleeding after my first timing belt change. Seems weird that his beeped or that the light even came on. He needs to keep an eye on his coolant level for a few days, even though he drove plenty of miles, just to be extra cautious.

Roger that on constantly checking gauges. BTW, I took my A4 out for the first time in about two months on Friday & Saturday. It ran really good. I wanted to stretch her legs a little, so I ran it up to 105 mph on I-90, & it was sooooo smooth. It felt like I was driving on glass. I don't know if it was due to the HD tie rod ends I changed awhile back or not. I haven't ran up the speed since they were changed, but all I know is that it used to never be THAT smooth above 80 mph.

FYI to anyone reading this that is concerned about driving in excess of 100 mph on the interstate: I-90 throughout South Dakota is very desolate & few vehicles travel it. The speed limit could very easily--and safely--be 100 mph. It would also be very convenient for the 330 mile trip of nothingness across the state from my house to I-29 when I go back to my home state.

I changed out my radiator when I bought the car since it was overheating sometimes from a blockage (electrolysis corrosion?)
After we finished it would cause the chimes to come on right after starting the car in the morning. Eventually fine-tuning the level smoothed things after a couple of days (and hasn't happened again.)
It wouldn't hurt to let the car run in neutral until the fans kick on. If they don't and you get the chimes then you might have a bad sender at the bottom of the radiator. The corrosion in mine blocked the sender but I put a new one in anyway.
