The car has been sitting for two weeks :/ because I am to cheap to order parts with over night delivery.

Anyway I have replaced the valley pan gasket and all that needs replaced when doing that. I also replaced the valve cover gaskets lower oil pan gasket. The head gaskets donâ€TMt look to be leaking. Replaced the two oil pressure senders/sensors. The car hasn't been started in two weeks the oil was just drained yesterday and there is still oil running down onto the lower oil pan :0. I think it might just be old oil still coming down but I am not sure because I cleaned the hole top half of the engine very well. I will keep an eye out to see if its just old oil or not once I get the car started and running. But I still have to finish the Timing belt for that and I am waiting on my tensioned and idler pulley to finish that job.

Anyway what gaskets are left to be leaking. I am almost positive its not the head gaskets or the upper oil pan gasket. I am also sure its not the tranny leaking :). I smelled the fluid it doesnâ€TMt stink like tranny fluid. Plus I just drained the tranny and got as much out as I put in it.

but would not leak oil down the front of the engine. Did you try the head bolt tighten tech write-up? There was some Audi service bul. that described tightening the bolt to stop oil leaks.

Hope this helps

It tends to crack. I think there are two different types of O-ring, depending on model and year.

All my head bolts where around 30lbs. I know the bently says 44lbs plus a half a turn but the heads arnt leaking and the bolts stretch or whatever so I just left them alone? It really only takes two seconds to get to them so if they need tightened I could do it no problem.

if it's near, look at your oil cooler. There will be oil dripping b/n it and the oil pan.

If it's running down the FRONT of the oil pan, you main crank oil seal might be leaking... or more of a PITA (if that's possible), the upper oil pan seal.

It doesnt leak in the front at all.

that'd be my best guess.

I really dont think from what I can see that the upper oil pan is leaking but its really hard to see in there. Possibly just left over oil deposits still running down. But the car has been sitting for at least 2 weeks. I will just have to keep an eye out. Now that the engine is sparkling it shoudnt be hard to pin point.

Hi, sounds like the leak in my 12V.
I replaced my oil cooler oring (cheap) but
in the end it was the oil pressure sensor that
is just beside the oil cooler.
It is also pretty inexpensive since it can
be bought from many online parts suppliers.

I have replaced it already but I couldnt get a tool in there to tighten it so it may not be tight enough. Also I am put my finger under it and it doesnt seem to have any leaky area under there. Just something I will have to keep my eye on.
