A few months ago I paid somewhere around $8. They claim they recently got new price sheets, and the filters went way up. I suppose I need to find a new source.

When my dad first got the oil changed out of warranty on this A4, they charged $23 for an oil filter... needless to say that was the last time the dealer ever touched the car for an oil change. I got mine from Autohausaz.com and they're the huge ones... and were like $5 a pop iirc. Might be a start. moribundman 10-27-2004, 11:52 AM Someone cut them open and found less pleats than in a Fram. With Bosch filters I'd make sure to get a Filter "Made in Germany." Or I'd buy a Mann, Mahle, or Hengst filter. The M1 Mobil oil filters are also very good. Last time I bought an Audi oil filter at the dealer it cost about $14. qfrog@work 10-27-2004, 12:28 PM its also not made in germany XND is the vendor code on it and a lot of our other filters too. qfrog@work 10-27-2004, 01:26 PM MHO iirc is the vendor code which is mahle.
