First of all, you can get all the relevant info on the <a href="http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lubes/Product_Information/Automotive_Engine_Oils_Collection.asp"> Mobil website</a>.
None of the Mobil Drive Clean oil is approved by VW/Audi. That does not mean you can't use those oils, but you should know what you are looking for in an oil. There are few requirements that in the proper VW 502.00 oil spec that I would not neglect when choosing any oil.
Let's look at Drive Clan 10W-40:
With a viscosity of 14 cST at 100 C it should meet the VW 502.00 HTHS requirement of at least 3.5. Other than that we don't know if it meets or exceeds or VW/Audi requirements. I would assume that sulfated ash will be <1.5% (important for deposit control and cats), and that there is no issue with seal compatibility.
The only Mobil oils that officially meet VW/Audi oil specs are:
- M1 0W-40 (VW 502.00, VW 503.01)
- M1 15W-50 (VW 505.00 - diesel spec))
All that said, I don't think that Mobil Drive Clean 10W-40 can cause a problem. If I were you, I'd use M1 5W-40, a full synthetic oil that contains a large amount of esters, which also clean, with the benefit of a good dose of detergents, as this oil is a mixed fleet (gas/diesel) oil. It should hold up for 10k miles without any problem.

due to more engine leaks with syns on old gaskets?

Modern synthetics control seal swell and shrinkage very well. The only problem you may have is that any existing leak can get worse when the synthetic removes any crud around the seals.
What oil did you use until you started using Mobil Drive Clean?

And I switched to it because the LubroMoly was a pain to get because I had to mail order it. So far happy with it.
P.S. I know moribundman knows this. :-)

IS EVERYONE USING? I live in Canada, Ontario(Toronto) temperatures can range from 45F to -20F in the wintertime and 90F to 55F in the summer.
Will MOBIL 0W-40 or 15W-50 work?

Going by the specs, M1 0W-40 meets your engine's requirements. I did not like that oil one bit. I always got a nasty rattling noise when the engine was hot. The reason could be that M1 0W-40 is on the thin side for an xW-40 oil, generally shearing down to an xW-30. Im generally looking for an oil with a viscosity of 15 cST at 100 C or higher, or an HTHS of upwards of 3.6.
During the cold season, I don't think you will have an issue with M1 0W-40.
There are many oils that you can use all year round. 5W-40 seems the best compromise for a true 4 season climate:
VW 502.00 approved:
- Castrol 5W-40 (VW dealer)
- Lubro Moly 5W-40
- Pentosyhnth 5W-40
- Castrol SLX 0W-30 (the version that says "VW 502.00" -- red label; one of the few 0W-30 oils that meets VW 502.00)
- Unocal 76 Pure Synthetic 5W-40
- Castrol Syntec 5W-50 (worked exceptionally well in my motor)
Not approved but suitable based on specs:
- M1 5W-40 (works well in my engine right now)
- Delvac 1 5W-40
- Red Line 5W-40
- M1 15W-50 (wouldn't use that if it's freezing cold all the time)
