Is the power easily noticeable at the lower RPM, can you really feel it kick in, and what does this do for fuel economy..

that way it is kinda like a head's up display, but put a fuseable link in there or something so you could "unplug it." You wouldn't wanna look down when you're testing that thing 'cause chances are you're traveling fairly fast and that could be dangerous... an AW no-no.

I don't really look at it that much anyway. It's more to make sure the RPM switch and Relay are working.
I'm going to move it to a more descrete location when my new ashtray gets here (the original was broken so I put my a/f meter down there).

In fact, it only makes a difference for about 300 RPM. This is more along Mance's thinking that "if you're gonna be a dog, why be a chihuahua?"
You actually notice the switchover point less because you're not losing as much power before it kicks in.
Doubt you will notice any difference in fuel economy.

... and installed your LED there. It's in the speedometer and has a blind cover in the back. I saw it the other day when I replaced some gauge bulbs.

I may look into that and wire a on/off switch with the LED.
Thanks.

You could use an inline resistor, or you could simply filter the LED to darken it a bit.
By the way, the unused space is in the tachometer, not in the speedo! I mixed up left and right.
