BG 44k used to be difficult to find. I guess they thought they'd make more money by expanding their market with a less effective consumer product.

Try at a local speedshop.
I use exclusively due to costs and effectiveness. Thats not to be confused that it will offer a 1.5 tank solution like BG44K did at one time but because if you used it every other or every third tank or even 4 times a year does/would offer incredible value/effectiveness-for-the-buck.
Answer: Audi/VW fuel injector cleaner, ie; Autobahn VW239003. Sub-$2 per bottle in case quantities and a very very good product. Shell V-power is another I've used exclusively since its introduction and am wholly enamored with. But I still use a bottle of Autobahn every 3rd fillup at Shell.
If you never get lax/neglectful with yout cleaning regimen then you dont have to play catch-up with the stronger, more volatile cleaners. "ounce of prevention vs pound of cure" kinda thing.
Another good product is the Redline SR-1; use a little every tank or use a whole bottle for aggressive cleaning.
