I have a 96 A4 2.8, my Passenger side Valve cover gasket has started leaking, Just wondering, is the gasket for the driver and passenger side the same? Because when I looked it up it just said 2 required so I'm assuming driver and passenger side are the same gasket?

Thanks

Also when I install my passenger side valve cover gasket do I need any gasket sealer? Or can I just install the gasket by it self? If I do where I can I pick some up?

thanks

Audi recommends using only a dab of RTV in a few spots (corners) near the cam bearings. Those spots are right next to oil galleys, so don't clog them with too much RTV. Whether or not to apply any additional thin layer of silicone, is a matter of opinion. I used Permatex orange RTV (bought at Kragen) only in the recommended spots. Clean the metal with a rag and acetone or similar to ensure adhesion.

While you have the valve covers off, clean out the mesh wire breather filters in them with carb cleaner.

I didn't feel like typing any more. :-p

I've been sitting in Induktion for the last 4 hours getting mandrel bends installed in my exhaust. The guy doing it is going a great job but I can't wait to get home! :-)
