So I finally got around to swapping out my Pagid Blues for my Pagid Blacks today. Other than getting my rotors turned down cuz I slightly warped them when breaking in/bedding the BLUES, wow is there a difference between these 2 pads.

I didn't think there was THAT much of a difference when I put the blues on the car 2 weeks ago. Through the break in period, I did notice that these puppies did grab a bit more than the BLACKS I had on the car, but damn man... it wasn't till today that I found how much of a difference there was between the 2. There is a considerable difference in how much harder I have to push on the pedal (no it's not spongey, and after the drive they were just as responsive as when I put them back in). They blues just grab that much better than the blacks...

Only gripe I have with the BLUES is that the s.o.b.s squeel like a banchey when light braking (like 25 mph and less). I am unsure if it's cuz I possibly glazed the rotors/pads after the Glen (a very distinct possibility) but nonetheless, they squeeked!

Mance, do you experience brake squeel with your Pagid Blues? Just curious. I know the Pagid Orange tends to squeel from the experiences of others, so I guess it's not that off that the blues squeel.

Total cost for today was: $14 to get the 2 front rotors turned down, and $4.50 for the lift for 2 hours of work. I swapped all pads, changed my oil, reconnected my driver's side headlight washer tube that somehow managed to pop off, and check for some oil leaks.

Oil leaks, I found that there is a slight seapage (sp?) from the driver side above the lower oil pan seal, which runs down the oil pan and down the oil cooler. In addition, I found that there is a slight oil sludge where the tranny and engine meet (my guess is thatmy valley pan gasket is starting to leak down the back of the engine) I dipped my finger in the oil and it 'looks' like engine oil... but I'm not positive exactly what tranny fluid would look like... but my guess is that it's lighter than that. What do you guys think? Any ideas what might be leaking down the back of my engine?

the squealing was unbearable on the streets and totally absent on the track. I'd run nothing but oranges if I could lose the squeal on the street.

But I always ran blues with cross-drilled rotors and that "may" have some non-squeal affect. Or perhaps, like you mentioned you may have glazed them. Maybe try an aerosol anti-squeal spray or brake cleaner? Or remove them and rub them around face-down on a sheet 220 grit sandpaper to knock the glaze off.

I only got a tiny tiny bit of fade (only noticed it cuz I over-reved the engine when heel & toeing) at the end of the back straight ONCE on tuesday (the one dry day). I did a late brake and was over 100 mph, but it was no where near uncomfortable, disconcerting, etc. Funny thing is, when those faded... they kinda felt like the existing pagid blacks I have on the car ;) Well, maybe not THAT bad, but you get the idea

so my guess is that they're glazed. I'll probably roughen them up a tad when I finally kill off my other pads. I'll also probably run a light sandpaper over my rear rotors just in case they're also glazed a lil bit... but I think by the time I swap the blues back in, the blacks would have roughened up the face. As of now, I have no squeeling at all... so I'm happy. I just no longer have as crazy of a brake grab ;)

If I'm lucky, by the time the black pagid pads die off, I'll be able to toss on a set of A8 rotors and TT caliper carriers cuz I don't know how much more time I have for my current rotors. They were measuring .945-.955 (I'm guessing inches, but I didn't see what the guys calipers were saying) and min wear mark for my car is .91. So after turning I got 'bout .3 or less to go! Real annoying part was that my rotors were barely warped... and were warped in the middle for 'bout 1/4-1/2"! So it was just enough to be annoying. Oh well, at least I got it done cheap :)
