MY 2000 with the Motronic ME 7 engine management systems. The newer Bosch ECU has more inputs than the older Hitachi ECUs. My guess is that the connectors for each ECU are different also.

North American A4 has MMS 411 series ECU. The difference?: Two extra 02 sensors after the catalytic converters, OBD-II electronics, and a five harness, 96-pin interface.

The MMS 300 series ECU has a Bosch 64-pin interface similar to the North American MMS 200 series ECU, as far as we know.

Thus, if you have a North American A4 and want to use a European ECU, you must rewire the five harnesses with a total of 96 pins to one big 64 pin harness.
