The Germans are crazy-mad-head-over-heels-gah-gah about headers. They love em! Put em on everything. Buy new cars and won't drive it til headers and exhaust are installed. Given that I gotta believe there exists headers for our cars. Preferrably equal-length headers as I'm a firm believer in every cylinder making the same HP/TQ.

I just can't buy into TDL was the only option in the world for 12V headers. Somebody, somewhere makes headers for our cars. I just know it!!

I think he should be pretty cheap. Maybe a discount if I allow him to put a sticker on my car with his companys logo on it, since he just opened up his own shop and what not.

I have a friend who would make me a pair for $3500+ stainless but needs the car for 6-8 weeks while he works on it do determine clearance issues as well as to insure they wouldn't block any bolt access or ancillary devices from cables to electrical accessories.

A set of equal length headers done right would be stainless with all mandrel-bent radii. All welding would be hand tig stainless. He told me they would take 150 man hours (75 ea. side) and cost over $600 in stainless laser cut flanges with all T304 stainless mandrel bends tubing with approx 12 welded 2.5"-3" sections in each runner.

Non stainless would save about approx $200 in steel ,and rust out in a year. Anyone who thinks they're gonna get a "good" set of custom, equal-length one-off headers hand-made from scratch for less than $3-$4kk is buying junk or hanging off a crack pipe. Hey if they were that easy/cheap I'd make em myself.

All the SCCA shops that do these for local/regional formula/TransAm guys were quoting me between $5500/$7200 including materials and also needed the car for the duration of the project (approx 8-12 weeks).
