Well... I think it's time that I leave the Audi 12v Development flock. What do you think I should ask for a '97 A4 2.8Q w/164K miles? Here are the details:

- 5 speed manual
- Casablanca white w/gray leather interior
- Moonroof
- CD Changer
- Sport steering wheel
- 225/50-16 BF Goodrich KDWS tires (about 8K miles on them)
- Eibach Springs
- Boge gas shocks (installed about 5K miles ago)
- Neuspeed 19 mm rear antiroll bar
- 2 catalytic converters replaced about 15K miles ago
- Brembo cross drilled and slotted rotors (all 4)
- Pagid brakes (front brakes replaced 3K miles ago)
- New ignition wires
- Fresh plugs and tune-up (about 1K miles ago)
- Vacuum hoses replaced about 1K miles ago
- Abnormally Aspirated Electric Fan Kit (EFK)
- Abnormally Aspirated S3 MAF
- Abnormally Aspirated S3 Hose Kit
- Abnormally Aspirated Velocity Stack
- TDL Throttle Body
- K&N Air Filter
- Engine uses 1 quart of Mobil 1 every 5K miles. (Since I've owned it, I've only used Mobil 1 every 5,000 miles.)
- The car is rock solid and needs nothing. I would sell this car to a family member or friend for a cross-country trip with a completely clear conscience.

I have to admit that I'll miss it tremendously, but I've decided to keep the 2002 A4 3.0 Avant (tip transmission) that I bought.

If anyone can give me a good idea on what I should ask, that would be helpful. The sad thing is that I've got an intake manifold thatI started port-matching, a set of AAH heads that is ready to bolt on (complete with port matching) and a extra set of AAH cams. I guess I can sell those separately though.

All the other mods are only beneficial to a forum member enthusiast and a "deduct" if you mention it to a casual buyer. Even hint at mods and it's an abused car. Hell, we even assume that when we see a modded one on Ebay and we're zealots!

I would place "value" at/near $8k. I would place "worth", ie; what someone with hundred dollar bills in-hand will offer at closer to $6k. Between the high/low is likely the number you'll end up with, least in my neck of the woods. I can buy 100k mi, clean 2.8 12V's at/near $8k from non-factory Audi lots. 25% less from private parties in the newspaper/Auto Trader. My son just got $4000 for his super clean, spotless 94 90S with 97k miles on it... but took him 3 weeks of newspaper ads and countless phone calls, tire-kickers/morons. He was asking $4800/OBO.

Your car sounds nice.

As a "comparable"

I'm presently "negotiating" on a "97 without all your added extras, but less miles at $5100 starting price.

Do I really want two Audis?

I would like to give whomever buys the car right of first refusal on all that stuff. My Audi mechanic (Mike at Ingolstadt West) knows a couple of people who might be interested in the car, so maybe I might hear from them.

I think I've decided that I'd sell the car for $7,000 as it sits. But I would agree to $7,500 and change the timing belt, timing belt tensioner, water pump and add swap out to the AAH cams for the right buyer. (I would pay my Audi mechanic to do this work.) That way whomever buys my car will have a perfectly running and well set-up A4.

I'll keep everyone posted as to what becomes available if I sell the car. If anyone is interested in the car, just let me know!
