I just did a search of this forum (12valve devo) on the subject. There were lots of "comments" pros and cons SC vs TC etc. But I did not read of anyone who has tried one and liked it. Certainly the 2.7 TT and the 1.8 liter are well represented under the Turbo tent. I'm interested, but there is just no room down by the manifolds to let a TC be enjoyable to live with.

Comments anyone?

If you want to go forced induction it will have to be a custom setup as there is no kit for the 12V readily available.

There was a guy who did a custom SC setup (wnaudi12v) but was into the project to the tune of 10k and another guy who did a turbo setup (Rob?).

Good luck.

I would be reluctant to spend 10K on something that I could not live with! That's why the question. Many engines have been "boosted". I am wondering how successful with the AUDI V6 12Valve.
Reading some "adds" yesterday, It appears that some of the belt drive SC's are better constructed than others. With the assortment of air pump types, it is hard to weed out the truth and the hype.

Having someone else build a pump bracket and assemble the pipe and fittings is not a big issue. I can do that.

sc with motodyne on it, you might as well write a $5000 check to me, because he will take your money and not send you sh!t, and quite frankly, I wouldn't mind have $5000 more in my bank account. The ecu in a 12v is not programable, and therefore forced induction is not an option. Search the forum, beating a dead dear from MM is worth of your time then searching though, I promise.

it pertained to the 12v V6.

It'll at least add 100hp to crank and engine noise to 110db.

turbo charger solution

No confusion with the 30 V.

I just had been looking at the ATI Procharger
http://www.procharger.com/superchargers.shtml.
What I am hearing in this forum is that such a blower system can not be successful because the ignition timing etc. can not be "programed". It would seem that the present ECU could handle a modest amount of boost if the knock sensors respond rapidly enough.
Fuel delivery could be optimized by injector selection if required.
Perhaps this has been tried but difficulties were experienced. I would be interested to know what those technical difficulties are.

Spending $10K on someone elses incompetance should not be considered a technical difficulty.

I am not trying to put fresh light on some of the scams that I have read about on this list, but none of us should settle for misinformation as a limit to our options.

I hope it is clear, I am not looking for "a kit".
I am just interested in what has been attempted.

The evidence on this subject in this 12V devo. list suggest there are many others who remain interested as well.

Ahh

Here is something about the 30V. These models must have "different" ECU's?

The SC at that link is PES's G1 SC. They have since introduced a G2 supercharger with custom intake manifold and bolts directly to it.

And assume all of the risks. It has been done by 2 people that we know of, but at a very high price tag, & very long periods of trial & error. If you can do it, go for it. I'll cheer you on along the way, but I suggest considering the current value of your car before spending thousands of dollars on the project. If you still want to do it, by all means do so. I'd like to see more people accomplish it so they can share info on how they "overcame" our ECU's.
