I am a week or so shy of an e-code/seperate fog light conversion from the stock setup. I know at least a couple of you on here have done this. Is it easier to get a bumper from a newer B5, or is 12v bumper modification fairly easy? Thanks in advance.

because I just got xenon headlights from an 00 S4 and I hope that I can just buy seperate foglights to plug in.

I have done the ecode and lower fog light modification. It might be easier to buy a used bumper, but will the paint match? Will it cost an arm and a leg? Making the brackets to hold in the fog lights really isnt that big of a deal. I can help you out if you need it. Here's a link of when I installed mine. Not incredibly difficult if you have some mechanical know-how. Check their sigs, I believe they both have links to offsite photo albums detailing the brackets they fabricated from metal pieces.

But I recently picked up an '00 bumper so I don't have to mess with the brackets I made. It's a solid design I made... but major overkill. StutterinJ has a much simpler design. I on the otherhand made it so I can slide and adjust my fogs without having to bend anything... Also I wasn't too keen on bolting to the bumper... felt too flimsy to me.

Overall cost of making the brackets was like 5 bucks... plus a lotta labor ;)

where do you get the smaller lower grills? Do they come straight off a 99 or newer A4?

The triangular piece I bought from the dealer (the pair cost like $55). BUt if you're interested, I have a set laying around I'm that I'll sell ya. Email me if you're interested. One has a broken tab, but is still usable.
