...Yes I did search the forum, I saw installation help for 12V A4s, but, the airbox on the 90 is different.

So, how far in should the stack go? How close should the lip of the VS be to the airbox? Mine looks to be a little further in than the picture, although it doesn't take much force to pull it back out again.

Does this mean I need to push it in farther? What would keep it from vibrating out while driving?

Sorry if these questions seem stupid, I just want to do it right.

Thanks!

Any my VS is an older one and is probably slightly different than yours. I recall UrS4 saying on some of the older models, you have to wrap a layer or two of electical tape around the VS to get it to fit snug. It should be in there tight.

I tapped it until it fully sat into the bore of the airbox lid. On the 90 airbox, Mr. D is correct. UrS4 has suggested that you use electrical tape to wrap around the outside lip of the VS 6 or 7 times to build-up the thickness. Then seat the VS into the 90's airbox bore.

...you can see a small ring of it in the pictures). Heated it up, and gently used a rubber mallet to get it in there. It feels a lot more snug now, does it look far enough in?

...accelerate smoother. I just hope I have enough tape wrapped around it so it doesn't get dislodged while driving!

On another note:
I just got the extra throttle body from Jretal, so I'll get it to Mance once he has time.

So between the two that should help the car...especially at 6-8000 feet where I live!

Once again, thanks for all the help you two!! :o)

I actually did search the forum before posting, and all the results I didn't mention anything about tape...but I thank you for your contribution! :o)

...the engine feels smoother through the revs, and *seems* to have quite a bit more pickup over 40MPH. Well worth the money...amazing what such a relatively simple device does!

Thanks again to everyone!
