Regarding my previous "DOA computer" post lets just say the 'puter is deader-n-fried chicken. I'm waiting now for FedEx to pick it up so I can start my day.
Those waiting on S3 hose kits and recovery sleeves are aware of my bead-forming machine problems. Well it gets worse; after the machine was returned last Friday I discovered it's gear-drive is stripped. Only way that could happen is they set the mesh incorrectly at the U.S. Service Center. They sent a new machine yesterday. I should have it on Friday when they'll pick up the old one and do whatever they do with their screw-ups. Next time I won't be so anxious to have scheduled warranty re-calibrations/adjustments done. Probably blow them off altogether or attempt them myself. Machine worked fine before they got their hands on it. And the "one week" service they spew for the work will be 6 weeks before I have a working machine. Hell, I could make the machine in 2 weeks.
A new all-digital flow bench may be in my immediate future. Going to look at it Saturday morning. If I like it I'll load it up in a friends truck and drive it down to Champagne Motorsports.
And speaking of Champagne Motorsports if I pull the trigger on the new flow bench I will be forced to move out of my current digs, ie; my garage. I'll be totally out of garage space. In which case I'll move my machining operations into a vacant 2-car stall at Champagne Motorsports. The upside is shipping pick-up daily with no more drives for me to ship. The downside is no more going to the garage at 2am in boxers and flip-flops to machine parts on those insomniac nights.
Again, for those wo arent up to speed I have no computer til at least Friday and maybe not til Monday/Tuesday. If you send email it's not that I'm ignoring or not responding. It's that I have to drive 7.5 miles to get on a friends computer and it's not very convenient and she's not always home. I'll do the best I can but I'm a little strapped for online access for the next week.
