I've been looking at the Lltek and the B&B Performance. Can't really decide, and i don't know enough to custom fabricate one. B&B was on ebay but had a legitimate sounding supplier, so i'm not as skeptical. I want to get something not too expensive that'll make a decent improvement.

I can honestly tell you that Mance's intake products make a very tangible, feelable difference. Start with a Velocity Stack and remove your MAF screen. That helps a bit. Then consider the large bore MAF, XTB throttle body and Stage 3 intake hose kit with recovery sleeve.
But if you're working on the less expensive side, just get the Velocity Stack ($54.95 IIRC) and remove your MAF screen. This will make a noticeable difference.

I had a similar problem with my ecodes where you would adjust it with the screws and nothing would happen. I finally cranked on that thing so hard that it made a huge POP noise. And the lights shot straight up about 4 feet. Could be your problem???

Maybe I still have too much rice in the blood (last car was a Nissan), but I always thought cones were the way to go. This is the one i found on ebay, I know everybody's seen the lltek.<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2475023158&catego ry=38634&sspagename=WDVW">http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2475023158&catego ry=38634&am

I'll be real honest with you.
From what I've gathered so far, the stock box with VS and what not will out flow a cone filter. If you DO wanna go the cone route, you should look for an akimoto cone filter, cuz those are the best of the best of the best.

I mean to get another set from perhaps a different vendor
that really bites that you can't get a hold of 'em. I'm sure they'd exchange the lamps for you given the circumstances... there's no excuse for defects.
too bad this has turned into a bad experience fo jah. I wish there was something I could do to help. Although my suggestions are usually more complicated, and involve doing perhaps "unecessary" things. Since this issue is aboot safety, it should be taken seriously by all parties. So if I were in your shoes, I'd just shop around & buy another identical set from a different distributor. Swap lamps, and now you at least have something that works (and looks cool!!) ECS can take as long as they want, but at least they're not impingeing on your sense of security. The only gamble here is that if you never make contact, it's likely your money is lost, and now you've just spend that amount x2. As long as you have the funds, my solution is alright. I've learned to not sit on the phone waiting for these performance shops to get back to you. Yah gotta be on the ball, make decisions, and plough your own path. But hey, that's just my 2¢
good luck either way Kevin. If you think it'll help, I'll write ECS as well =)
check yah later

the prominent member line was just for effect. I figured they're probably on AW too. Since I live on an Air Force base, I could always talk to the legal office for free, & have them send a letter & make a call. I don't think that ECS Tuning gives a rip about their customers at this point. Consequently, I'll never refer anyone to them, but will discourage doing business with them. They still won't care; they'll always have the idiots from the A4 forums buying their "junk".

My step-father decided to be a car salesmen once upon a time, & he absolutely will not lie. He said he couldn't compete with other dealerships' "lower" prices because the other salesmen lied all of the time to get the sale. I couldn't sell a lifejacket to a drowning man personally. If I think a product sucks, I'll tell the prospective buyer. I tried sales for a very brief period of time. Starvation is a good indicator of poor salesmanship.
