So my velocity stack arrived yesterday. I had originally intended to order the full suite however Mance got slammed with orders, but since he had plenty of VS on hand I went ahead and ordered one. My initial intention was to wait and do everything at once but the VS was here and boredom was setting in.
Installation: About 20 minutes, would have been shorter but I had to take part of the airbox up stairs to dremel out the proper portions on two of ridges. My screen was actually a pain in the ass to get out, dunno how anyone ever removed theirs with toothpicks. I've only changed a few things on this Audi so my scale of how hard it was compared to other things may be off, but I rate this a 2/10.
Car difference: Right after starting the first time the car idled much higher than normal at around 1100, typically mine sits around 9. After a few minutes this dropped down and continued to do so, my last idle was around 8. Now here's the tricky part, since it all subjective here's how the car feels different to me. It pulls harder, faster... at lower RPMs I feel no difference but as the RPMs climb the car just feels... tougher? Most importantly for me my car now pulls a lot better above 30. This is both good and bad, good because that was what I felt was the only deficiency in my Audi and bad because now it is going to be harder to convince myself to spend the cash on the rest of the kit.
Overall: 10/10. Seriously, it is cheap (the cost of a game, dinner with your girl), easy to do and makes a definite difference in the feel of your car.
