Now the cable is loose. Does any1 have any experience fixing this?

I need to know:
1. How to open the hood without using the inside
lever
2. How the inside lever is mounted. I think that is the part the broke.

I used the shaft of an old, broken pool stick that I had. You have to reach up from underneath and pop it. It's a b!tch, but you can do it. Good luck!

On mine, the ball popped off from under the hood so I just had to pop it back in. Don't know how the "inside lever" is mounted.

to the side (towards the driver's side). You'll see it if you shine a bright flashlight up through there. The ball end of the cable goes through the lever. If my digital camera wasn't out for repair, I'd take a pic for you.

I don't think removing the bumper will help because you will be reaching up from behind the radiator assembly (between the radiator and engine) and not between the radiator and grill/bumper.
