Within the past month my audi had a little run in with a curb. In the process several cd's from the changer came loose and ended up on top of the unit that was playing the current cd. (unfortunately I did not know this had occurred) It worked fine for several days after the run in with the curb. I then started getting a CD00 Error whenever I tried to use the cd player. Finding this odd, I checked the changer and found the "dislocated" cd's.

I have dismantled the cd changer top and pushed all cd's back into their appropriate sleeves. I don't know a whole lot about electronics but am guessing I messed up the beam in some way. Do you guys think something like this would destroy my changer or is their a failsafe where it needs to be reset when objects enter the playing unit?

Getting really tired of the radio . . . thx for any help you guys may have.

If not, you need to remove it, unplug the system, and then plug it back in again. That SHOULD reset it...

I had a similar problem... only my dad knocked the CD player off it's mount on the top of the trunk and knocked a few CDs loose. Eject the cartridge and you should be golden. There is a release under the cartridge (you can see it with the cover completely off) that you can poke with a long screwdriver that will spit it out.

hope this helps!

The cable on the back of the changer is fixed but runs to the male connector which I took a picture of earlier. You said you allready had the female adaptor. These two connect. So hope this answers your question.
