I have a 1993 90 FWD. I was under the hood replacing a hose and noticed a brown wire or tube coming from the fire wall just where the coolant enters through. It is right next to a blue wire. It has a screw in the end of it. The reason I as is that I am the second owner and am wondering what this is. Can someone tell me? Is it OK to be "capped" or should it go some where. Thanks. I am totally new to this car. Have only had it 2 weeks. Could someone paste a page from the Bentley manual as what it is?
Thanx for all your help.

that goes to the evaporator housing. The two larger hoses go to the heater core.

If you look at the diagram where it says TO EVAPORATOR, and if you follow the vac line, it goes to the intake manifold. The hose sits together with the other vac hoses on top of the plenum (That's what I meant), and is spliced into the system that supplies vacuum to the EGR control solenoid and the fuel pressure regulator. I'm not sure if the vac hose we see in the above car is that same vac hose as on my A4. I hope UrS4 will find out!
