View Full Version : Does Mobil Full Syn 10w30 meet Audi specs??? WA 10-14-2003, 11:11 AM Mr.D-'97 A4q 12v 10-14-2003, 11:31 AM a parts store told me that M1 is discontinuing the 0w40 and is releasing a 0w30 which may meet the specs, I don't know. I am going with this product next time I change my oil: <img src="http://www.germanautoparts.com/displayimage.php?file=10490128M3L9"> KenK in TX 10-14-2003, 12:39 PM moribundman 10-14-2003, 01:10 PM M1 0W-40 is the only Mobill oil that meets VW 502.00, the newer version of VW 500.00, which our engines require. M1 10W-30 does not meet our engines' high temperature high shear requirement. An oil that should work well in our engines without bearing the VW 502.00 approval should be Mobil Delvac 1 5W-40. That's a comnmercial oil for diesel and gas engines. It's exensive (cca $7 a quart) and hard to find. The Lubro Moly 5W-40 should be an excellent oil for our motors. PS: I don't believe that Mobil will discontinue M1 0W-40... Bryans12v 10-14-2003, 01:26 PM |
