Well, mine's a little brighter. I just found out some good news with my wife being in the military. I'm getting ready to drop this bomb on Visa (I'll just give the main point):

SOLDIER'S and SAILORS CIVIL RELIEF ACT
50 U.S. C. App. 501

The Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act provides many protections for active duty military people so they may devote themselves to defense needs without undue worry about civil matters. It applies ONLY in civil matters -- not in criminal actions. This is a summary of the key provisions of the Act.

INTEREST PAYMENTS:

If, prior to entering the military, the member borrows money at an interest rate in excess of 6% , he need not pay any interest in excess of 6% while on active duty. This is true unless the lender can satisfy a court that the serviceman's ability to pay is not "materially affected" by his service.


Goodbye, 15% interest! This is retroactive back to date of entry into active duty (29Apr03). Now I have a little more incentive to pay off my car &amp; wife's credit card early!
