because at least the '96 A4 owners among you know what I'm talking about. ;-)
I'm trying to get rid of my OEM two-piece DOT Bosch headlights (just the headlights, blinkers not included). Not sure where I should offer them. Surely, nobody on AW would be crazy enough to buy those lights. They have the worst beam pattern and light output I've ever seen. My bicycle has better lights. Should I put them up on ebay? And how much do you think I should ask for (comes with all bulbs)? The lights are in very good condition.
PS: <b>This is not a sales pitch.</b> I wouldn't want those lights, and the only person who might want them could be someone who either doesn't care about the headlights, or who wants to restore his car to OEM looks before selling it.

But then again, the world is full of idiots & someone will bid on them. You could sell a rat's testicle on screwbay to some freak out there.

I think I only saw the e-check option. What the hell? Something's not kosher about PayPal. Or I didn't read the extra-fine print well enough. It takes a few days for money to get "cleared" (moved from my bank account to the PayPal account). Is that normal? What are they rambling about money transfers being instantneous? Is that only the case if you keep money in the PayPal account, which means they collect interest on my money?
PS: I'm leaving now, so I'm not snubbing you, but I'm unavailable until tonight.

You're not the only one who missed the fine print. I even look for it. After signing away my life to the military for 8 years I always read the fine print, just not directions on spray paint cans.

The kind that provokes laughter at the B5 forum.
They got nice glass lenses that don't turn yellow, have a good Euro-beam pattern, and they don't arouse cops' suspicion. They are also legal in a few states, which have notoriously bad weather: Washington and Oregon, and maybe some others.
on a trip to Germany back in '99. I bought them brand-new from the dealer for about 400 bucks. I bought 2 spare lenses (ca $25 each) and spare rubber gaskets that go between the lens and the housing. I think Just Däve mentioned those lights the other day on the B5 forum, and I have seen at least one other guy, who has the same lights. Meaning, they are definitely available somewhere in the US.
PS: They use H7 for low and high beam, and H1 for fogs. They have of course the Euro-parking lights, but you just don't plug those in. The lights were plug-and-play, fully compatible with OEM DOT wiring harness and connectors.

The e-codes have thick glass lenses, the DOT lights have flimsy Lexan lenses. The reflectors are differently designed. The DOT lights have cheesy bubble levels to help "adjust" the headlights, the e-codes don't. They are supposed to be adjusted witha Hella aiming device, but it's not too hard without. The e-codes produce about 3 times as much light as the DOT lights, with a crisp cut-off and a wide and evenly illuminated area.
