View Full Version : Well, I've noticed over the past week that my studder was not cured by the new O2 sensors. Help!

I have no idea what the problem could be. I think it feels like the clutch slipping but not sure. I happens as soon as I release clutch usually when shifting into 4th but sometimes 3rd also. It also seems like its been idling a little rough lately and I only got 17mpg on my last tank when I usually get 19-20 or more. The previous tank I got better so I'm going to keep an eye on that.

I have replaced the fuel filter recently, had fuel injectors cleaned, plugs only have 10k on them, and Magnecor wires have 20k. Any suggestions, advice, wild guesses? I have no freakin' clue.

both the 12v's I mess with have developed vacuum leaks in the hoses that lead the the brake booster. Check directly to the right of the power steering pump and there should be some vacuum crap coming off the intake man. That rubber 90degree peice coming off in the intake manifold is what failed on a 1992 100 and a 94 90.

that runs under the intake manifold and the vacuum reservoir nipple it connects to. Or in my case the plastic nipple itself that the rubber line slips over on the vacuum reservoir had broken. When I replaced the vac reservoir I found the new part is now lined with thick aluminum foil on the bottom to help prevent heat fatigue on the lower hemisphere of the cannister and it's vac line nipple.

This one is particularly suited to studdering as if it's leaking your manifold switchover mechanism would be erratic, switching back & forth between high/low runners in the intake as the cannister cannot maintain enough stored vacuum to keep it open at high (4k+) Rpm's.

to extract the "sphere" to replace it. Hopefully the nipple is not broken. Thanks.

My car is so unreliable, that sometimes its Karma will cause other cars to develop mechanical issues....since it spent a few hours at your place on Sunday, there may have been too much negative exposure to your car. Sorry bout that :)

Seriously....I'm not sure. Not throwing any codes? I guess, check that line you say looks dryrotted, and see if that clears it up.

Have fun with that one!!!!!!! ;0p I made darn sure to replace that one when I changed my evap core. It looked fine, but I changed it anyway because I wasn't about to pull that sucker out again for measly vacuum leak.

It seems to be pretty common around here lately, huh?

I have no clue what causing the problem but it definately doesnt feel normal. Its almost like the car wants to stall sometime when taking off in first, but it doesnt. Just a lack of power.

I really dont want to buy a new MAF to see if its the cause, the ****s expensive. I did pull a code a about a month ago for running righ on both banks.

Who knows.. Is there another aspect of the car we are missing here?

3rd or 4th. Its frustrating because there's no CEL that might be able to point be to a cause and I don't know what else to do! I'm going to try to change out those two vacuum hoses that 100avantQ and UrS4 mentioned. Hopefully that will help.
