Wurth wheel paint, or Griots Garage Silver metallic is the OEM paint.

Now if I can find someone who sells it around here.

Wurth has a distribution center in Chicago. Griots Garage, believe it or not, had the best price. I think they just 're-brand' the Wurth stuff.

Made in Germany.

I used a generic clear coat & it turned brownish-yellow. It was nasty. So last night I sprayed it with some aircraft remover. I'm gonna repaint it w/ the DupliColor minus the clear until the Griot's comes in just so it won't look so stupid. It's vain, I know, but I'm just weird like that.

According to the tracker it left Harrisburg, PA six days ago. Should be here on Friday. I can't wait!

that aluminum flexes & the chrome will crack & flake before too long. I used to electroplate gold & chrome, but got tired of it. Now my machine is collecting dust.

I heard he was gonna start franchising due to all of the free publicity he's getting here. :0)

After he got into an accident the body shopped polished his wheels for him. Those are off the A8 and weren't so highly polished before. Not my style but I actually think it looks pretty good.

As Mr. D said, I was in an accident.

Before

and after

Evidently the wheel place cannot replicate the OEM satin polish finish. And since 2 wheels needs repolishing. They repaired and then polished all 4 wheels.

I do prefer the oem polish. But since I bought these rims used and they are pretty scratched up already I did not complain much.

It really does not look as bad in person... :)

& low & behold I read the directions (which I commonly refuse to do because, let's face it, I'm a man). Upon reading the directions I think I discovered why my wheel turned a dirty brown/yellow. It was a divine revelation when it said DO NOT USE ENAMEL CLEAR PAINT WITH THIS PAINT. Sometimes I'm amazed when I follow directions. It's like the time it takes to read them will rob my life of a few worthless seconds I would've wasted anyway. Well, it looks good now. Just in time to resand it for the new paint/clear to come in next week. And no, I didn't spray it with clear enamel this time.
