The only person I know of who may have done this is UrS4. I haven't ventured into that area yet, but have considered it.

You bring your decrepit A4 or 90 to UrS4's shop. 24 hours later (presumimg you can keep him off the internet during that time!) you get your car back running great with an extra 50 horses. I'm sold.

including the ones currently on my 93 90. They have all turned out good. Audi heads respond well to porting &amp; polishing. Even better if you get larger valves installed. Especially on the 2 valves per cylinder heads. Combined with a set of aftermarket cams, you will feel a differance in performance! ;O) Only problem is it takes a good amount of time to properly port a set of heads by hand. Last set took me 3 months! This is why most people who perform such work, charge a high price for their work. ;O)<ul><li><a href="http://www.humanspeakers.com/audi/hotrod.htm">http://www.humanspeakers.com/audi/hotrod.htm</a</li></ul>

I guess, quattrofrog is doing a bang-up job. He's been porting since yesterday and he hopes he'll be done by tomorrow. :-P

Plus work 10 hours a day, 6 days a week at another job?

Its simular to "Dental work" on a large scale!

You grind away material inside the intake &amp; exhaust ports, in an effort to improve/enlarge the passages.

After your done porting, you place the heads on a flo-bench, to check your work, and verify each port is identical to the other! If not, back to porting!

After all porting &amp; flo-benching is complete, the polishing begins! Followed by more flo-bench time! ;O)

Porting the heads, 2-3 hours a night, by hand, can quickly consume several weeks time! Especially if your wanting them to be "right!"

Try it sometime, then let me know how long you take to do 2 V6 heads! ;O)<ul><li><a href="http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.htm">http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.htm</a</li></ul>

I didn't think it was a piece of cake. I like the comparison to dental work. I bet I'd get carpal tunnel syndrome from all that grinding, polishing, and buffing. I'm also getting more and more worried about quattrofrog's project... ;-)

Ported heads work much better with ported intakes.

I match port the intake runners to the heads! More time consumed! ;O)
