View Full Version : UrS4 - do you have any other mods to the intake manifold?

Are you running with a TDL (or self-ported) intake manifold? How about exhaust manifold?

I'm thrilled at these performance increases (and spent half of the day looking for a used MAF instead of working!)

If you're getting such significant gains from improving the engine's intake side, I imagine there's horsepower to be gained in the intake manifold and exhaust manifolds as well!

I'm really excited!

requires intake or head removal I would consider having the intake Extrude Honed. As far as port/polish jobs go they can't touch Extrude Honing for effectiveness, value or outright power. Ya just can't reach all the places that abrasive putty goes with a die grinder.

I'll never touch the exhaust manifolds if I couldn't replace them altogether with equal length SS headers.

And I wouldn't expect either the intake/exhaust manifolds to net even as great an improvement as that of the 3" silicone hose/MAF/TB boring due to amount of intake obstruction material removed. I think either might gain slightly from some gasket-matching but I'd only consider it if I had to have them off for some other reason.

Still I find it all so sad that I can't make full use of these mods by way of a modified ECU without some sort of piggy-back widget which I may have to resort to before it's all over. As it is right now, this moment in time, I'm still at the mercy of the computer's pre-programmed fuel/timing maps. And that just sucks out loud!!
