I have been reading alot about Audi's evaporator failure. Now, my car is another victim of evaporator failure. Is there any better evaporator in the market that I can buy?

No aftermarket parts available. Mine failed last year. I hope to replace it in the next few weeks. I was quoted $1200. The part costs $300. Labor is a lot 10hrs. There is someone who has done it on the Audi 90 board with pictures . Not exactly the same but similar issues. Supposedly they fixed it with 1997's. There were a lot that failed under the original warranty also. Supposedly there is a drain under the car that gets clogged. It should be checked during maintenance but never is. You have to remove alot of bolts, brackets &amp; components to get at the a/c black box! ;O)

Then figure out how the a/c box comes out, as the Bentley gives very few clues.

You get to be resourceful &amp; creative with your tools! ;O)

Plus its all Fantastic plastic, which can be easily broken.

The jobs not really difficult just a PITA! ;O)
