So everybody tells me that all A4s have keyless entry and that mine is located under the back seat. So i take off the seat and see one control unit, but not the one pictured on the tech section. Mine is a different shape, closer to the driver's side and says something like ABS (but maybe something different).
Does this mean i don't have keyless entry (even if its turned off)

I have an early 96 (October 1995) My car also does not have the box under the seat .It's not in the trunk under the round plate either. There isn't even a bracket for the box or an unused wiring loom. My car is wired with an aftermarket remote (installed before I purchased it) but I have yet to find out where the "brain" is located. My remote is somewhat unreliable so I would like to replace the brain and remotes.

i bought a 3 button remote off ebay for my 96, it didnt work. i have the same similar box under my rear. the dealership showed me the remote i needed, it was the 2 button type. it was 130 bucks, so never bought it.
